Principal's Report
We have had a great September! First of all the Board of Studies inspected the College for their regular check on policies, administrative procedures, teaching/learning programs and practices. The two inspectors were greatly impressed with all that they saw and commended the professionalism of the staff; the obvious quality of the programs, the level of care afforded the students and the conditions of the facilities and resources. They saw no hindrance in recommending registration and accreditation of the College for the maximum number of years. This news was followed up with the excellent results in both the NAPLAN exams for Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 where the students were well above the national average in both literacy and numeracy and the English Competition where 5 students achieved Distinctions and 10 students achieved Credits. Excellent results from our small candidature! The secondary Athletics team once again successfully defended their crown at the CDSSA (zone) carnival as holders of the Aggregate Points Shield (total points divided by student numbers in the school). Two students in both primary and secondary made it through to the CIS (state) championships. The Senior Band also placed a very close second in the Penrith Eisteddfod’s band competition. They have either won this competition or placed second each year for the last 4 years. Heritage hosted the annual Kemps Creek Cup (senior students and adult teams play Oz Tag with primary teams play soccer). Over 280 players were registered to play at the local ovals. Many more families came to watch and to enjoy extra activities and the food on offer. Having just finished the renovations of our Technology wing work has started on our new Primary Block.
